Who I am

About me

I'm Maria del Mar — an international economics and compliance professional with experience across financial services and fintech, including compliance testing at Goldman Sachs, operations at Wells Fargo, and a fintech internship at Ripple with exposure to MAS, FCA, and NY DFS regulatory frameworks.

Alongside my finance career, I've been systematically learning to build for the web through SheCodes — completing workshops in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, APIs, Python, and responsive design. I'm currently completing my MSc in International Economics at UNIR.

I write about international economics and fintech regulation on The Economist's Notebook on Substack. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Based in Texas, open to remote opportunities globally.

Outside of work and code: I run a stationery distributorship in Mexico, bake every single weekend without exception, and I have strong opinions about sourdough. 🧁
